Speak-O requires an explicit toolbar, keyboard command, or Selection action. Protected Chrome pages, extension pages, PDFs, and unsupported documents are outside the current product boundary.

Use Selection reading and select the prose you want to hear. Speak-O refuses uncertain mappings rather than silently reading unrelated page chrome. Please report a reproducible extraction problem with a redacted diagnostic and no private Article text.

Open Speak-O settings and confirm that a compatible Chrome Voice is selected. Check Chrome and operating-system output volume, then try another Browser Voice. Browser Voice Mode may use a remote platform service and is not guaranteed to be offline.

Confirm the Provider Credential belongs to the Provider you selected, check the Provider account, and retry the connection from settings. Speak-O requests only the selected Provider origin and does not silently switch to another Provider.

Sentence highlighting is the safe fallback when Speech Alignment is missing or invalid. Speechify currently uses sentence highlighting; ElevenLabs can show word highlighting only when its returned alignment validates against the Article Snapshot.

Use Appearance settings to switch between top and bottom docking, change the theme, enable or disable highlighting, and control follow behavior. Minimize keeps a compact restore control available.

Disconnect each Cloud Voice Provider in settings, turn off Remember on this device if enabled, and clear Speak-O's extension storage from Chrome. Uninstalling removes the extension but Chrome profile data may require a separate storage clear.
