Speak-O is an open-source, accountless Article Reader for Chrome. It turns the primary reading content of a Source Page into a controlled spoken experience while keeping the active sentence highlighted where you found it.
Independent product. Speak-O is published by Rekh. Optional Cloud Voice sends bounded Article text directly from the extension to the Provider you select; Rekh is not an intermediary.

Stay close to the source
The Article Snapshot is mapped back to the original Source Page. The reader highlights the active sentence without rewriting the page around it.
Bring your own voice
Use a Chrome Voice with no setup, or connect ElevenLabs or Speechify directly with your own Provider Credential. Rekh never receives the key or Article text.

These screens show the production extension UI. The Article fixture is synthetic and the settings view contains no Provider Credential.
Calm controls, sentence progress, Playback Speed, Voice settings, and a visible current sentence.
ElevenLabs word highlighting appears when Speech Alignment validates; otherwise Speak-O stays at sentence highlighting.

Speak-O is designed to stay useful without becoming another account, dashboard, or content silo.
The extension is published under Apache-2.0. Its source, release notes, and issue tracker are public on GitHub.
Preferences, optional remembered Provider Credentials, and the bounded active Session Buffer live in Chrome storage. Speak-O does not persist Article text or Reading History.
Cloud Voice text goes directly to the selected ElevenLabs or Speechify API using your Provider Credential. Browser Voice uses Chrome's TTS surface.
There is no Speak-O account, Rekh speech backend, subscription, analytics service, telemetry pipeline, or automatic provider failover.
